They are excellent guards for their flocks. They are trained to “escort away” the intruder without attacking

In case of a close meet up you’re requested to:

• Stay away from sheeps and dog
• Show no aggressive behaviours
• Proceed or move away calmly, without running
• Keep your dog on a leash
• Get off your bicycle

In this place merge paths from 3 different directions( from Calenzano side, Bisenzio side and ridge path)

Its name comes from the characteristic chirping of crickets on these pastures during warm seasons

From here on, you’re up on Calvana pastures where you can often find horses and cows (Calvanina breed, a local variety of cow threatened of extinction)
